Hypnotherapy Practice & Mentoring/Coaching Group
Welcome!
I had the pleasure of being the creator/director/instructor of SoulWorks Hypnotherapy Training School in Colorado for several years. The school was state-approved/regulated and it offered a high-quality hypnotherapy certification training. Many certified hypnotherapists working in the field today graduated from SoulWorks.
In the years since I closed the school, I continued working as a hypnotherapist in private practice, in addition to using my skills as an informal hypnotherapy instructor/mentor/coach to individual clinicians.
I've been a Licensed Psychotherapist and Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist for 20+ years and I enjoy sharing my skills/knowledge with others. I'm often asked if I would ever offer structured groups for already certified hypnotherapists who want to hone their skills in a more individualized manner, and I've always kept the idea in the back of my mind, waiting for my schedule to open up.
I'm happy to announce that the Hypnotherapy Practice & Mentoring/Coaching Group is now a reality.
Who is the group for?
Since SoulWorks Hypnotherapy Training School is no longer open, I won't be offering certification training or credits for continuing education, etc. (and it isn't therapy, so the groups won't be covered by insurance). The focus is on mentoring/coaching clinicians who are already certified to provide expanded insights/knowledge/skills for the group members' professional enhancement and growth. Think of it as group coaching sessions (or perhaps informal/unofficial supervision).
Why only certified individuals?
The group will take a certain knowledge base for granted (basic hypnotherapy/hypnosis training). We won't be starting at the beginning of the learning curve. (There are many wonderful certification training programs along the Front Range.) Participants can teach and learn from each other.
What will the sessions be like?
Each session will be different but here are some possible activities: I will probably demonstrate a script or technique, then students could break-out in pairs to practice and/or one pair might be "in the fishbowl" for everyone to watch. Specific topic/lecture material will be offered. Students will come away with new ideas/insights, skills practice, confidence and materials.
How many students will be in the group?
Because right now I'm using a space-limited Boulder office, in order for students to fit comfortably, and be able to branch out into common areas, I will limit the number of students to 4-6.
What is my philosophical/clinical orientation?
Please go to the "Hypnotherapy" page of my website to read about my views and hypnosis in general:

How often does the group meet?
The group meets twice per month on Sundays.
Why Sundays?
The office I use is quiet and empty on Sundays, which will work great for this kind of group.
When does it start?
Please contact me for information.
What is the fee for the group?
Each 4-hour group session is $50. I want to keep the fee affordable for as many hypnotherapists as possible.
Can I pay by the session?
No. But you can pay monthly in advance. All payments must be paid in advance so I know how many people to expect per session and if I can add someone at the last minute. Or you can pay for all sessions scheduled for the year. If you want to pay monthly, on the first of that month you would pay $100 for the two sessions. You can also pay for a couple of months at a time.
How do I pay?
Personal check, cash, MC/VISA or Paypal.
Do I have to attend all the sessions or can I just drop in?
The more sessions you attend, the more you will benefit. I think this is an excellent professional mentoring/learning opportunity, and I hope you'll agree. Since each month must be paid for in advance and there are no refunds (see below), it's best if you're serious about the group before you sign up. Building trust and safety in groups is crucial.
Refunds:
No refunds. But if you have to drop out, you can use the monetary amount you paid for services with me (one-on-one mentoring/coaching or the next phase of the group).
Can I bring food/drink?
If you bring something to drink, please make sure it has a tight, spill-proof lid. We will take a break in the middle of the 4 hours so you can walk out into the common area to eat your snacks. I need to keep the office clean! It's a good idea to eat breakfast before you arrive.
Anything else I need to know?
Wear comfortable clothes because it's likely you'll be on the floor. And if you have difficulty being on the floor, bring whatever you need to make it easier.
Confidentiality
Even though this is not therapy and I am not your therapist, everything that goes on in the group must remain safe and confidential.
How do I sign up?
I'd like to have a brief phone discussion with each interested person before she/he joins. At that point, we can set up your payment arrangements and answer any other questions you might have. To schedule your phone talk with me, email me at lyndahilburn@aol.com or leave a message at 303-939-8832 and I'll call you back.
Individual Coaching/Mentoring
I am also going to offer a special rate for individual sessions with me while you are a group member. Ask me for more information.
Guided Hypnotherapy CDs
